About Resting Pride Face Studios

In 2024, I found myself watching the world become increasingly divided. The political climate, particularly surrounding the U.S. election, felt increasingly hostile toward many of the queer and transgender people I care about. Even though I live in Canada, the impact was impossible to ignore. I felt overwhelmed, helpless, and unsure of what I could do to make a difference. My anxiety got worse and my overall mental health caused me to struggle daily.

So I turned to art.

What began as a way to process difficult emotions quickly became something much bigger. I started creating paintings inspired by the Pride rainbow, the colours and patterns of the Trans Pride flag, and bold collage-style lettering. At the same time, I began fundraising for a local organization that helps queer and transgender refugees build safer lives in Canada.

By the end of the year, my home was overflowing with artwork. I had started selling pieces online, connected with an incredible community of people, and raised more than $5,000 through my fundraising efforts.

What started as a response to fear and uncertainty became a source of joy, purpose, and connection. Creating art helped me find hope again, and ultimately changed the course of my life in ways I never expected.

Resting Pride Face Studios grew from that experience. Every sticker, button, magnet, and piece of art is rooted in the same belief that small acts of creativity, visibility, and joy can make a meaningful difference.
